Friends with Things is a place where you can share things with, or borrow things from your neighbours for free – from bicycles to power tools, from cameras to sewing machines.
It’s about collaborative consumption and sustainability – but there’s more to it than just helping the environment. At Friends with Things you’re also welcome to share your time, skills and expertise with people – you can even share your local knowledge or connect with local people who share common interests.
In doing this, you make connections with your neighbours and those connections can help bring back a sense of community and neighbourhood that’s often missing from apartment complexes, city living and suburban sprawl.
We combine this with a powerful proprietary ‘search’ technology – which will drive future monetisation of the platform.
Try this experiment for yourself. Go the Friends with Things site, choose any ‘free’, ‘wanted’, ‘share’ or ‘classified’ listing, enter the headline of the listing and the suburb into a Google search – you will consistently find that Friends with Things delivers a first page or top 5 organic results for the listing.
We can do this for nearly any listing – which is commercially very valuable.
A mobile version of the site is also live and working – so this works for mobile search too.
We’re currently live, working and growing organically in a quiet Beta 1 launch.

Company Vision & Future
Our vision is to be the worlds defitninve social sharing or collaborative consumption platform.
The idea of collaborative consumption and ‘social sharing’ is in its infancy, this is still in the shallow ‘opinion leader’ and ‘early adopter’ end of the growth curve, and some way from early market. And as the market matures our ‘product’ increases in relevance – as we in turn increase its sophistication.
Our vision is to have the best platform, working, and growing when social sharing reaches early market.
