Germane Design is a business that will operate a number of diversified brands offering an alternative learning pathway for at risk youth. Rooted in problem based learning Germane Design is a social enterprise with a finger on pulse of the Three P's.
Germane Design will provide graphic design, marketing and web development. We are developing the website and web2.0 booking service for hairdressers and other types of similar service providers. The booking service is optimised for mobile and allows small business to offer a Mobile (Web) App to their customers. It will appear as though they have their own iPhone, Android, Windows Phone or Blackberry app.
G-shirt, supported by Germane Design, will be an online marketplace selling t-shirts developed by at risk youth. Designs will be original and the development of t-shirts will be used as a medium for problem based learning, resulting in Certificate level qualifications. Youth will be taught about the various stages of the product development lifecycle from inception through to distribution. Retailers will be sought as partner distributors. Profits will be shared with the youth responsible for designs. There will also be an option for nominate their share to be placed in a scholarship fund to pursue higher education. In this case a higher percentage will be given to reward their initiative.
G-shirt will be a stepping stone to G.O.B (Germane Odd Burgers) for youth on the development program. This is a healthy burger cafe with a unique offering that carves it a distinct niche. G.O.B will offer customers a warm friendly environment where they select their filling (kangaroo, beef, tofu etc) then select a flavour derived from a number of countries around the world, i.e. French, Aussie, etc. G.O.B will be franchised in future and the development of the menu has been designed to allow for expansion into foreign markets. G.O.B will maintain a youth development focus as part of the franchising agreement.
