IRL Gaming is creating a location based social gaming platform for iOS devices that is powered by the real world.
The first title to be produced on this platform is “Zombiehood”, a location-based survival game for the iPhone that uses the real-world as the playing field.
In Zombiehood, your town is a horror movie, and you and your friends can compete or cooperate in saving your town from the zombie hordes.
Game mechanic:
Players explore their real-world surroundings via the location-based app. Players enter real-world venues to battle the undead, while seeking out food, weapons and medical supplies to help them and their friends survive.
Market Differentiators:
Location + Social + Mobile: Our platform combines the fastest growing areas in the digital space. Increased relevance and meaning through location, connection to your social graph for competition or co-operation, on your mobile device, wherever you go.
Location Engagement: By powering games through real world locations we create stronger connections to the user, deepening engagement by leveraging the users emotional connection to the real world. No more fighting over pixels, it’s the places you go, the streets you walk in, its your world.
Social: We combine the sense of community of MMORPG with the casual nature of Social Gaming.
Product Digitisation: We further incorporate the real world by allowing users to scan in real world objects to power their progress through the game. Need more energy? Scan a can of red bull….
Games and The Real World
By using location data provided through the foursquare API, we are able to connect users to real world venues with unprecedented detail.
If users want to find food in our game they need to find places like restaurants, supermarkets or cafes. If they need medical attention they need to find a pharmacy or medical centre.
We can use the same information for different types of games.
