expanz is officially seriously cool!

8:39AM 7th Apr 2010

expanz has been included in the list of “Cool Vendors in Application Platforms as a Service, 2010” report by Gartner Inc.

Key findings from Gartner’s report include:

  • While some cloud application platform offerings treat multitenant cloud computing as a new beginning, offering innovative but discontinuous new programming models, many look to extend the existing programming models to the cloud.
  • Retaining the familiar programming models of Java, .NET, Ruby, Python, Unified Modelling Language (UML) or other simplifies the transition of the existing software and staff to cloud computing, but leaves some design for cloud specifics, such as multitenancy and version control to the developer.
  • Backward-compatible APaaS is a good place to start with cloud development.

From my perspective, the inclusion of expanz in the Cool Vendor Report by Gartner is validation of our vision to establish expanz as the application platform of choice for Systems Integrators, Enterprise Hosting, ISVs and Technology Consulting companies as they seek to navigate a sensible, secure, flexible and ultimately portable path to Enterprise cloud computing. It also validates the vision of our early adopter customers who have chosen the expanzPLATFORM to gain competitive advantage through productivity, scalability and deployment flexibility within a familiar .NET environment whilst utilizing expanz’ inherent cloud ready features such as multi-tenancy.
