Yesterday ANZA Tech announced the six companies that will complete the Gateway to the US program and demo their product in Silicon Valley next week. In late August ANZA Tech kicked off the program with a series of focus workshops aided by former-DEMO organizer Chris Shipley. The chosen companies will pitch before a panel of judges made up of John Dyson of Starfish Ventures, Eliane Fiolet of Ubergizmo and serial entrepreneur Simon Anderson and will be joined on stage by Aussies already kicking it in the valley such as 5th Finger and Embedster. This year’s companies are:
Earth Utility - Coming from the green tech space, this businesses has created a utility that makes sustainability simple and affordable.
iPOWOW! - This New South Wales-based businesses offers a platform and tools for online video, which collects and reports opinions in real time and creates a revenue model using micropayments, SMS and subscriptions. iPOWOW! is backed by seasoned CEO Gary Davis.
myCaRMS - This Adelaide-based businesses creates enterprise software that addresses the dual requirements of regulatory compliance and risk assessment for financial institutions.
Myownpad - Started by Prasen Rathore in Adelaide, this businesses brings social networking and social gaming integration into a unique virtual world platform that provides an immersive, interactive and social 3D experience.
Software Shortlist - This is businesses offers a proprietary method to help businesses identify software that is most appropriate for their business.
Tradeslot - We mentioned this startup, backed by entrepreneur Andrew Barlow of Adslot, as having received funding in the newest round of COMET grants. Tradeslot offers auction technology that creates transparent and efficient primary markets for scarce resources such as carbon, timber, grain, iron ore, water and more.
