The goal, as set by Mick Liubinskas and furthered agreed over beer with myself and Lachlan Hardy, was that we should have an event every week: same time, same place, without fail. The goal was to make it so predictable that there was no need to remember or check an invite. They get called Silicon Beach drinks as well, not for any other good reason than that it's the same people doing it like Mick, Bart, and myself (when I was in Sydney, at least) :) (The drinks happen every other Friday in Melbourne, which is what the author probably confused it with.)
