Win Passes to See Aussie Tech Startup Pros at Tech23

By Rachel Youens on Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

tech23It is a long way between Silicon Valley and Australia, both in miles and in mentalities and there are many players around the nation fighting to get a bit of their tech entrepreneurial mentality to graft on here. If you couldn’t book a ticket to TechCrunch50 in September (you can see IPitch’s coverage of it here), your next best opportunity is about to arrive. IPitch announced Tech23, put on by marketing and events firm Slattery IT, a few months ago and since then Rachel Slattery and her team have assembled an innovative pool of startups and a panel of speakers in Sydney that represent not only the nation’s best innovators, but the ones who have been able to turn that innovation into global business.

Unlike Tech Crunch, Tech23 is not a launch day or a pitch competition but more a showcase and a the diverse assembly of businesses Rachel and a team of advisers handpicked span industries from green tech to mobile. Mobile Marketing company QMcodes has been expanding overseas with mobile marketing strategies, while Big Tin Can is creating popular apps for both the iphone and blackberry market. Expanz has developed a platform being used by the New South Wales government for elections and Hiive Systems is a veteran to awards with recognition from CeBit for their Affinity software.

Rachel Slattery has already assembled a list of the top ten reasons you should be attending Tech23 on the event’s home page, so if you haven’t yet bought your ticket consider this your warning of all the things you’ll be missing and if you’re feeling lucky you can try to win a pass here at IPitch! We’ll be on hand catching any of the speakers you might miss and talking to some of the Aussie weblebrities that will be around. You only have until Friday to enter so submit your name ASAP!

This contest has closed! Thanks to all who entered. We will contact the winners and post their names here.
